Sioux City North High School Bands

"A Tradition of Excellence"

Welcome...

The North High School Band is an organization that supports and fosters the development of young musicians. We strive to ensure that each individual musician comes away with a deep love for music that will last them a lifetime.

The North High Band Program is comprised of six performing ensembles; Varsity Concert Band, Freshman Concert Band,  Two Jazz Bands, and  Marching Band. The goal of each ensemble is to set a high standard for quality performance, discipline, and work ethic.

This website is meant to be a resource to distribute the latest information to the students and parents as well as a place for us to share our pride in the program by showcasing pictures and our awards.

Dear Band Parents and Students,

The 2007 - 2008 school year is fast approaching and we are about a month away from the beginning of marching band sectionals. I hope you have all had a great summer and l am looking forward to the upcoming season. 1 would like to take this time to welcome all incoming freshman and new members! I think you will find band at NHS challenging, rewarding, and a lot of fun!! Included in this mailing are the sectional schedules, marching band camp schedules, and a calendar of events for next school year. Please look over the dates and put them in your calendars. Students that are in drum line and pit will receive other practice schedules from Mr. Duffield. Mrs. Netley will be sending a camp and rehearsal schedule letter to all color guard members. Please do your best to make it to as many of the July /August sectionals as you can, we will be working on the show music as well as marching fundamentals. The summer August band camp held the 13th-18th   is a required camp as we will be learning the majority of our show drill that week. I think that you will be thrilled with the performance schedule for this coming year! We will be returning to the Youth in Music Marching Festival in the Minneapolis Metrodome!!!!

Students that need school instruments may check them out at the first sectional they attend or may check one out by calling Mr. Massey and setting up a time.

If you have any questions, please contact Kevin Massey at (712) 204-3486 or (712) 239-7028,
